You raised many issues in your discussion. Please find following are my understanding of those issues.

God can help people in different ways. One way is by asking people to help each other. So one needs to work hard, and help those in need.

Some bad people take use of religions for wrongdoings. But it is not the fault of religions. For instance, a cutting knife should be used for cutting vegetables or other kinds of food. It should not be used as a weapon for hurting other people. If people use it for the latter purpose, it is not the fault of the cutting knife. The problem will be the wrong use of the tool.

Buddha and God are exclusive. If one believes in God, he/she cannot believe in Buddha.

As to religion and science, there are different kinds of things. In science, people use scientific methods to find answers for questions. People need to collect evidence, proposing hypothesis, testing the hypothesis, while religion is belief. Belief cannot be tested with scientific methods. It is better to explain most of the natural phenomenon with science, rather than religion.

Nevertheless, there are also some consensus on religion and scientific methods. For example, both use empirical evidence to support the arguments.

As so much information is available on the internet, it is not necessary for one to travel to another country to learn their culture. Definitely, it would be better for one to travel to another country to get the firsthand information.
