First a little news update on this end. This past saturday night, I had to go for an emergency appendicitis. They took my appendix out and 12 hours later, I was released from the hospital. I took one day off to rest and relax and then went back to work. The surgery area is still quite tender, but I'm on the path for a quick recovery.

Second .... yes, Fort Collins, is well adapted for biking. Actually, there is a bike trail about 300 feet from my house that goes through the city. That's the trail I use in the summer to get some exercise. It's great! But it can also get a little crowded.

Third ... you have yet another super cute picture of kittens! Mine have been starving for attention the past couple of days. They won't even let me eat my toast bread for breakfast without wanting a bite or two.

i am sorry Stefan for operation. appendix it is an organ which, seems, is designed for nothing but when it is spoiled can make big problem... besides every surgery is some stress for organism. are sure you did well going work so soon...?
well, today i feel also not excellent, actually i feel awful, something like getting cold.
hope it is not flu.....

Lena, you are not the first person to ask if it was a good idea to go back to work so soon. :-) Yes, by nature, I am stubborn and determined. :-)

The recovery seems to be alot easier then a broken shoulder. You are right. Every surgery is a stress on the body and I do need to take it easy. They caught the problem right before my appendix ruptured. In some ways, it is good that it happened in Colorado and that I'll have 4 days rest after today .... instead of it happening when I'm on vacation.

I hope you feel better soon! Do you also have the fear of the swine flu over there?

yes, here you can smeel sneaking fear even though ppl will not show they are anxious. i think ppl are a bit confused but to be honest there are too much doubts about vaccines for instance or extent of illness. in addtion there appear various, so called *conspirational theories" in which more and more ppl become believe....

First of all, I'm glad to hear that you are doing much much better! I'm continuing to heal too. I still get tired in the evening and we just changed one of the bandages yesterday, but there doesn't appear to be any complications.

Lets first start out with the flu vaccine .... There is a fundamental problem with people our age getting the flu vaccine. Whenever your body needs to fight off the flu or a cold .... your body tends to get stronger in its defense ... right? So with the vaccine .... you might be avoiding it for the winter, but your body's defense can get "lazy".

Now, with the swine flu .... I still believe at the moment (and my opinion can change) ... that as long as you are very careful with always washing your hands and making sure you get enough sleep so your body isn't unnecessarily weak ... that you should be ok.

you put it very well, Stefan! i never thought like that about vaccines; it is obvious they make our body lazy.
more, it may be very probable that vaccines stimulate virus'
to continuous mutation, don't you think?
tell me, how is possible we as, anyway, laymans could come to that conclusion and scientists seems to be blind....?

of course i use some unconventional medcines to make my body stronger but still not enought sleeping... :(

How did I come up with my conclusion? My mom has been telling me this from the very beginning. :-) Granted .... it's taken several years until I finally understood her logic. :-)

well, you can take fly from any place in your country to papeete - tahiti. then you embark on some (i don't know details) ship which will sail at nights and disembark you each day on another little island of french polinesia on which you can stay for one or two days.
my friend have been to there and says it is quite cheap atraction, relatively of course...
still you have nearer to there than me... :)

Glad to hear that you had a relaxing weekend. Has winter already arrived where you live? My weekend was mostly filled with hockey games. Went to a game friday and also saturday night. This week has been busy with work and I've also had to endure another dentist appointment and I tweeked my back pretty good yesterday. Today, it is alot better .... so I should be ok to take my nephew to a hockey game tomorrow night.

Does a person's handwriting change over the years? Does it matter if the person writes in "print" or cursive? I know that the way a person crosses his/her "t" can say alot about their personality. What some of the other characteristics are, I don't know.

How old is your cat? It seems strange that he doesn't like to be caressed. Has he shown any other signs that he might be slowing down?

The big news here is that we are getting hit by a *huge* snowstorm today and tomorrow! We are suppose to get up to a foot of snow .... perhaps even more. I'm working from home today and tomorrow because I don't want to risk getting stuck in the snow or having a car accident. Winter is definitely here!!!!!

well, somehow i didn't associate winter with place where you live .... here still atumn and quite cold nights but it doesn't discourage me cycling. i avoide crowd in public transport because of this bad flu, probably silly, anyway.....

my cat is 15 year old but has great condition, he still jumps like teenager and look very young but her personality change diametrically. he became gentle and hid his claws :)

It was the most incredible fall snowstorm we had last week. We got 19 inches of snow .... before Halloween .... which is very uncommon! But Colorado is also known for it's unpredictable weather. Today, the temperature is back into the 60's. .. which would be good enough to go for a bike ride .... but I didn't get the chance this weekend. You are one tough lady to ride your bike early in the morning! I am impressed!

I did go out to my parents house to see my youngest nephew and my niece's costume .... which was very original. But I didn't dress up myself. When I was a kid, of course I would go trick-or-treating .... but now it's more "fun" to watch the nephews and niece.

oh Stefan, you are very right. we know each other so long.... we had exciting chess game (damn why still no replay?) and we exchange our views about various topics and still you know nothing about me... but really is that nothing...? do we know more person knowing all circumstances of her life......? does place of life create our personality? but i will tell you what this place is but only to your information and count on your discretion... :)
