Wow. Lots of cool stuff going on (went on). (Hmm...wonder if I should go through all my weblog entries and count how many of them begin with "wow"....)
So...I took a break from my studying yesterday to go to Shabbat services on-campus with my good friend Lisa. She's Reform, so that's the service we went to. It was really small, and everyone sat in a circle. It was really cool to hear all these people singing in a different language (Hebrew, in case you were wondering). I kind of wish I knew the words so I could sing a long, cuz it's almost all singing and some chanting. The singing I could sort of catch on to since the words were written out phonetically in Roman alphabet, but the rhythms on the chats are so irregular, I merely sat and listened. Overall, I have to say it was pretty neat. I've never been to a service before. I would sort of like to see an Orthodox service sometime, though I really don't like the idea of men and women having to be separate, though I guess it's good cuz then you can't get distracted by some hot guy in his yarmulka...;-)
Anyway...afterwards, my friends Jeff and Steve met us and we all went to a sushi bar (in Bowie, in case you are a fellow Marylander and were wondering). It was pretty cool, especially since it was my first time at a sushi bar too. I can't say I'm a huge fan of sushi, and wassabi burns like fire(!), but I had a lot of fun. Sometimes I can really see why a lot of "white" people become infatuated with the Far East. It's so exotic and completely different from Western culture. I want to go back and do the "habachi"(sp?) where they cook the food in front of you with a big fire and lots of fancy spatula work (which from far away looked like a big knife! I was so relieved to see it was just a spatula...). I think we're going to go next semester. Wahoo!
And then we got back and I studied more. And today I had two exams: English and Russian. Russian was really really easy. English was tedious. I think I only put in a "B"'s worth of work, but I still want the A. Heh heh. And I got my final paper back--B+! God, I was (and am) so mad! I wanted the A! Even an A-, but not another B+ (that's what I got on the midterm paper). Argh! Sucks...I put hours and hours into that paper! I hope I get the A in the class though.
Monday is my last exam (physics of light, yikes!) so I better get on that. I just had some TCBY frozen yogurt, so now it's back to the grindstone...

Sigh. As you might have guessed, it's stress time. Exam time. Not a lot of extra time to write down all my terribly erudite thoughts, but since I was on the computer, emailing my english professor about a thesis topic for my essay for the final and I wanted to finish listening to Nelly Furtado's "I'm Like A Bird" (what a great song!), here I am. I should be in bed. And I will be soon. Eyes closing. Must stay awake!
Hmm...nothing particularly erudite comes to mind. Therefore, I leave you with this somewhat humorous query that has been a source of humor ...

Well, I know I am against just posting random quotes on my website, but I want to change my IM profile so I need a place to put my current quotes so I don't lose them and I just thought "well, why not share them with my fellow xangans?" So here they are, in no particular order:
Do you suppose that people got mad cow disease because cows had mad grass disease?
