2006年6月28日 下午4點12分42秒Hey~Friend

Dear Friend,

Hey~ I'm put to a test. A tough one. A test of our friendship.

These two days, they kept telling me that you are dating. And they kept asking me why I know nothing about it when I show them a completely shocked face. They urged me to bug you until i get every minute detail of the incident from you. I dunno what I decided is right or wrong.

I chose not to ask.

I chose not to ask you anything. Not even let you know that I know. Even attempt to hide from you the fact that people are talking about you at your back. Unless you admit it or finally tell me delibrately, I will take all what the others are babbling as rumours. Ridiculously silly rumours.

They say friends should ask, especially best friends. I dunno. I think true friendship is not built on secrets. Whether we are real good friends does not depend on how many secrets of yours I know or how deep I've dug in your mind. I'd rather believe true friendship, our friendship, is built on trust. Mutual trust.

I chose to trust you.

If I know nothing, it's either because what they are spreading is totally nonsense, 100% made-up or because you are hiding the truth. Whatever the reason is, you must have your own good reason for not letting me know, and I respect your decision. Just deny, I will make sure everyone is convinced that thier belief is wrong and what an idiot they have been; just admit, and I will show my full support and make sure their story will not go too far and things will not go out of control. Keep silent, then I'll try my best to pretend I'm innocent and keep things as they were in the past, like nothing has really happened. I know you have your reason and you never mean to harm me.

I want you to know that I am your loyal friend, the one who will always stand by you. But I dunno how long I can hold myself back, keep myself from asking and be this ignorant little sheep. I have my reasons to be curious, too. Not curious about your love affair (but of course I'd love to hear if you'd like to share), but curiou about why you never mention a word to me. I not disappointed in you, I just start to doubt myself.

Just say something. Even "Never mind. Trust me." will do.

Love,
Your loyal friend

2006年6月20日 下午2點13分37秒It's over

Right, it's over. It's all over.

It's the end of the final exam, the end of F.6 and probably the end of my life.

2006年6月5日 下午2點11分57秒The Bus Uncle

A video clip of a middle-aged man scolding a youngster on a bus has become the focus of attention lately. With a series of reports, more and more people become aware of the fact that it is against the law to use foul language on the bus, on MTR, or at the airport. Now, parents have another reason to tell their children to stop using foul language: you may face prosecution.

We always ask for the reason when we are told to do (or not to do) something. Most of the time, what we can get as a reply is really weird, if you ask me. I can't actually find any relationship between what we are told to do and the reason they tell us. Why should we go to school? It's because we have to gather enough knowledge so that we can pass the exam, not because we have to learn important values and meanings of life or to learn how to get along with others and live in the complicated world. Why can't we throw rubbish on the street? It's because throwing rubbish on the street was an offence, but not because it is selfish to damage our environment. Are the parents trying to tell us that if there are no more tests and exams, it is meaningless to go to school and learn? Are they telling us that if we have enough money to pay the fine, we can throw rubbish everywhere?
Nowadays, people, especially the younger generation, just look at the consequence, but never bother to think about what is right and what is wrong. We slowly lose our ability to tell the difference. One day, if laws are no longer enforced strictly, our world will be a mess, a disaster.

Ask for the reason, the real reason.
