Two weekends ago I was walking down the street when I noticed a crowd of people looking up at the side of a hotel not far from mine. Then I noticed two police cars and one ambulance. So since everyone else standing there was looking up, I looked up as I got nearer. All I could see was an open window. My only thought was that someone was trying to jump. So since I didn't see anything, I started walking away when someone tapped me on the shoulder and pointed up the driveway a little bit. There on the cement was a man's body, blood everywhere. They were just starting to cover his body with a cloth of some type.
I walked away but as I did, I turned around to notice the crowd was getting bigger with people just standing and staring at the lifeless body and the blood on the driveway. Some of them even had small children with them and were pointing out the body to the children. This I couldn't believe. If I had a child with me, I would have covered his/her eyes so as not to see this. I can't imagine the effect this sight must have had on a child's mind.
It's always so sad when someone takes their own life. They seem to think that this is a way to end their hardships or misery. They don't realize the effect this will have on others in their lives, their family, their friends, etc. Suicide has a terrible effect on so many people.
I just hope I never have to witness such a thing again.

After four years and working in two large modern hotels in Xi'an, I have decided it is time for me to move on.
I was offered a teaching position at Xi'an International Studies University. I accepted it. So, hopefully, on September 1st, I will begin teaching classes there. Since I have been in Xi'an for this long, and I know the city better than most natives, I was asked to be a member of the faculty in the "tourism and travel" college. I think that is going to be so interesting and so much fun.
I know I will enjoy the new environment. I was a teacher ...

Hi Happy, thanks for visiting my page and your kind words. Yes, I love Xi'an very much. I have been here over 4 years now. I worked at two different hotels in the city but ended my contract with the last one on the 25th. On September 1, I will start a teaching position at Xi'an international Studies University. I'm looking forward to it. I was a teacher at home. I was a Service Manager, but too many hours, too many days. I couldn't keep up with it anymore.
So now I rented a house in a new building and new area and am getting moved in. Such a lot of work for a poor old man, lol !
I am not "the" moderator of I See China, that's Yang Yang, she does a great job. I just try to support her if she needs any, but she doesn't need it often

Hi. Yes, I started at the university, yesterday actually. I have such great classes so far. I will really enjoy it, I'm sure. I am teaching two different courses designed around oral English. The students are all 3rd and 4th year university students, so their English is already pretty good. So I have a good year head of me, I think.

Hello Ron, thanks for your kind words too. Wish you a happy new start in the school soon. And I think you must like the new job too. I am a assistant in a training center. Mainly dealing with documents. There are mainly middle school students in the center to improve their study. Some of them are good and some of them are not. Sometimes I am very busy, sometimes not. Yes, I'm back, but not as much as before. It just all got so boring, same crap everyday from the same people. So I gave it a break. But coming back, I found so much of the same forums, bleeding hearts, stupid questions, favorite this or that, etc. Ha Ha, seems not much changes. But it's been a nice break, so I come on everyday to see what's going on.

:)) aw ur observations are very accurate sir :)) beside giving back responses I rarely go to the forum to check for new topics. That's the curse of My zorpia as well since I tend to check the topics that my friends are commenting and I rarely go into convo;s like we used to have, either kidding around or sharing our two pence. Hey I noticed Aireen has gone from zorpia, if u are in contact with her please send her my hugs and tell her I wish her all the best in her life.

Yes, it seems forums are not so interesting, same old same old. But I did make a fatal mistake and comment on a page without noticing the originator, it was the Filipina girl who lives in Japan. The one who always wants her pictures all over them. And then I got a smart-ass comment back from her when it wasn't her I was responding to, so I simply shut up. I don't need that aggravation in my life anymore.
Aireen got a full time permanent job, I'm happy for her. I think it's with a bank or something where she can use her education and ability. So she has no time anymore I guess. Once in a while she will send me a message but it's been a long time now.
Hope things are going well with you. Remember to keep your parachute AND your mind open at all times. Otherwise life is so boring, haha.

Hi, believe it or not, Aireen came online yesterday during a work break or lunch or something. She seems to be enjoying the job at the bank, which is great. I told her you said hello. She's just so busy with work and keeping up with her two kids, it's hard for her to get online. When she worked at the net cafe it was easy, she was onlilne all the time. Different situation now. I just came on to Zorpia today after a couple weeks. Seems I just can't push the button very much anymore.
Things are going okay for me these days. Weekend will start for me in 7 hours, so I'm looking forward to my two days off, I need it after being "held prisoner' in the hotel all week.
