Historically, the area had a close relationship with Tibetan people and Tibetan culture, for example the sixth Dalai Lama Tsangyang Gyatso was born in Tawang.[6]
In 1913-1914 representatives of China, Tibet and Britain negotiated a treaty in India: the Simla Accord.[7] This treaty's objective was to define the borders between Inner and Outer Tibet as well as between Outer Tibet and British India. British administrator, Sir Henry McMahon, drew up the 550 miles (890 km) McMahon Line as the border between British India and Outer Tibet during the Simla Conference. The Tibetan and British representatives at the conference agreed to the line, which ceded Tawang and other Tibetan areas to the British Empire. The Chinese representative had no problems with the border between British India and Outer Tibet, however on the issue of the boder between Outer Tibet and Inner Tibet the talks broke down. Thus, the Chinese representative refused to accept the agreement and walked out.[citation needed] The Tibetan Government and British Government went ahead with the Simla Agreement and declared that the benefits of other articles of this treaty would not be bestowed on China as long as it stays out of the purview. The Chinese position since then has been that since China had sovereignty over Tibet, the line was invalid without Chinese agreement. Furthermore, by refusing to sign the Simla documents, the Chinese Government had escaped according any recognition to the validity of the McMahon Line.[8]

Various tribes in the state of Arunachal Pradesh have all evolved their own individual dialects that distinguishes them from the rest of the tribes. Some of the most widespread dialects are Nishi, Monpa, Adi, Dafla etc. Arunachal Pradesh has over 50 distinct languages and dialects, mostly of the Sino-Tibetan language family. However, Assamese is widely spoken. Presently English and Hindi have become widely used languages in Arunachal Pradesh. English is quietly replacing Nefamese (a pidgin of Assamese and various dialects in Arunachal) as the lingua franca of Arunachal Pradesh. Almost entire population of the state can understand and converse in Hindi.

the local dalect are of tibet-chinese family---can't this prove anything?
we can see again english imperialism occurred here too. they figure by changing the language here they can claim more rights
why didn't the editor here present a survey chart for the language spoken?

2009年3月21日 6:53Re: Hello Oliver, Pengyo
reports shows that foreigners have a lot of misundrstanding on China
As a citizen of China I feel obliged to give out my voice and show what a common Chinese think about these issue
China is not perfect now and we are not so ambitious to be a superpower, but unfortunately we are misdescribed to be this
On the issues of Sovereignty we can't retreat anymore... for 150 years china have lost so much, and we can't lose more...
Sometimes I am an annoying political animal... but in fact I just posted my stances on thses issues, I am not a politician:)))

I was thrown to a service zone of an expressway to beijing and i got into downtown in a city bus. before taking the bus I waited in a cybercafe for more than 4 hours(about 3 to 7)
The coach I took had something wrong, and its engine gave off smokes, we thought it might explode. Anyway I am safe in Beijing now.
Nice day:-) and thank you for your caring:-)))

2009年1月28日 11:18Re: kaibigan/peng yo...what's up?
As I told you, I have been in my village for the festival, and there's no Internet accessment there.
It was kind of boring to be there, because there was few people whom we could talk with, for we have been out for too long.
there too little entertainment there.
yesterday afternoon as we had decided to leave the next day, we made a "shuttle diplomacy" to visit relatives. we dropped at their houses, talked a little and left for another's... :-)
life in the village are not very pleasant. many people left their home to work in factories, but the Financial Crisis reduced the bills for the factories. they get little from their farm.
My aunt had been working in her home and vegetable garden. But her pig she had raisen for half a year died of disease. she had to work out for an income to make up the lose.
