THE ABC′S OF FRIENDSHIP “A l w a y s” be honest, would you want them to lie to you? “B e” there when they need you, or you may wind up alone. “C h e e r” them on, we all need encouragement now and then. “D o n o t” looks for their faults, even if you have none. “E n c o u r a g e” their dreams, what would we be without them? “F o r g i v e” them, you just may do something wrong sometime. “G e t” together often, misery loves company, so does glee. “H a v e” faith in them, the human animal is remarkable. “I n c l u d e” them, you may need to be included sometimes. “J u s t” be there when they need you. “K n o w” when they need a hug, and couldn’t you use one? “L o v e” them unconditionally, that is the only condition. “M a k e” them feel special, because aren't we all special? “N e v e r” forgets them, who wants to feel forgotten? “O f f e r” to help, and know when “No thanks” is just politeness. “P r a i s e” them honestly and openly. “Q u I e t l y” disagree, noisy no’s make enemies. “R e a l l y” listens; a friendly ear is a soothing balm. “S a y” you’re sorry, doesn't let them assume it. “T a l k” frequently, communication is important. “U s e” good judgment. “V e r b a l i z e” your feelings! “W i s h” them luck, hopefully well! “X a m i n e” your motives before you “help” out. “Y o u r” words count, use them wisely. “Z IP” your lips when told a secret.
By following these ABC’s as often as you are able, you should live a long and friend- filled life.
