The Banishment (婚姻休止符)

Best-loved film so far!!!

It begins with a scene when a man (Alexander) is healing the wound of another man (Mark) & then, we were took to the scene when the man was sitting in the train with his wife (Vera) & her 2 children to his childhood home. I didn't know why I felt so blue when I was watching the film, perhaps the music that is so dark & deep or the main character rarely shows happiness on his face.

Once she revealed to him that she was bearing a baby but not his, the gloom becomes much deeper. He couldn't stand her betrayal & he had a struggle in how to deal with "his son". His decison? Find someone to carry out abortion but she dies....... the emotional breakdown was one of the focuses of the film, i was drawn with the depiction of Alex's reaction. Actually, he is in love with her

Just when he drove to find his colleague (Robert) whom Alex thought R had an affair with V with his gun, he discovered (from the pregnancy letter) that V didn't betray him & she was bearing his third child. How he stand up to the fact that he "killed" his wife? He chose to reveal the truth to his children & that's how the story ends

P.S. To me, Russian sounds similar to German. Both are tough & strong. When will I start learning Russian & master it?

Beneath the Rooftops of Paris (巴黎屋簷下)

I was expecting a comedy but it turns out to be a tradegy. This was my first visit to the Hong Kong City Hall Theatre, yet, I would say that the screen isn't wide enough, I would prefer Science Museum more.

At the rooftops of Paris, an old man living alone was enjoying his life with his friend & his lover. Watching pretty girls by the swimming pool, getting special sevice in the cafe & having great time with a young girl--- all make up his aging life. 密禱 (The Secrets)

經朋友介紹入場觀看的第二部以色列電影, 也是暫時在電影節看過印象最深刻的電影

背景全然不同的兩個女孩子在照顧一位曾殺人(情夫)的女人期間萌生的愛情, 她們愛得轟烈, 但在猶太社會這根本是不能容的事, 更何況其中一位女孩一心希望打破受傳統男性主宰的宗教社會, 她排除萬難; 但她在最後一刻退縮, 選擇了一位他愛她勝過她愛他的配藥員, 結果???只好把愛埋在心底吧 ...
