時間不斷前進，從背後推趕著我們，在前面牽扯著我們。我們走在一條不歸路上。 每一個新年都變成舊年，每一個嬰孩都變作故人。一代過去，一代又來。人能縱然能自誇吪仛風雲，卻逃不過時間的掌心，從生到死，從壯到衰，我們深不由己！ 時間無情，卻也不真無情。它給過我們多少機會。每一天都是新的，每一年也是新的。多少機會從指縫閒溜掉，多少真理從耳邊掠過！機會一去不囘。

从前有两个重病人，同住在一家大医院的小病房里。房间很小，只有一扇窗子可以看见外面的世界。其中一个人，在他的治疗中，被允许在下午坐在床上一个小时（有仪器从他的肺中抽取液体）。他的床靠着窗，但另外一个人终日都得平躺在床上。
每当下午睡在窗旁的那个人在那个小时内坐起的时候，他都会描绘窗外景致给另一个人听。从窗口向外看可以看到公园里的湖。湖内有鸭子和天鹅，孩子们在那儿撒面包片 ...
