Yeah cuz subjigating women to cover themselves from head to foot promotes equality.
Do you have a problem with women being granted the freedom to wear what they want, go where they want with who they want?
If you have a problem with France's stance on equality for ALL women, then don't go there, it's that simple. Stick to muslim countries where women are treated like second class citizens.
If you have a problem with how the west abolishes thing which promote inequality, inotllerence, and oppression.... then by all means, stay in muslim countries where all those things are still rife.


If you just want to condone the inequality of women, then don't come to the west, you wont be welcome.

So in the case of Muslims in France being forced not to wear their accepted clothes, is an abuse of freedom, unless the type of clothes they are wearing and they have a job in which it might be dangerous (ie loose flapping clothes near fast moving machinary), in such cases I am certain reasonable rules could be worked out.

In the UK many years ago a road traffic law became law that made people wear crash helmets when riding a motorbikes. This became a problem for Seiks, who have to wear turbans.

A reasonable arrangement WAS MADE. This is the way things should be done.

freedom mean to be yourself, freedom mean also respect for other persons and for their choises, also for their religion, tradition, culture..

freedom mean accept yourself how you are and others without judge before know...mean not let anyone force you do things against your heart and belives, and not force others do things they not want and hurt...

freedom is also a choice...bec many like live in golden cagges and cry they cant fly when dooris open.. ...and this only bec this have comfort...
freedom mean also a fight ...in cases that many country used their force try to make their ideeas law for others more weak ...

but most hard fight for freedom is that with mentalitys of peoples , bec that can be wrong and is most hard to change...

...besides not all arabic countries impose strict rules on head cover...that's their freedom...though if they follow Islamic teachings they must really cover. The reason for that is embodied in their religious teachings.

The trouble with FREEDOM is that one has to accept CERTAIN rules and what appears to be non freedom when travelling to different cultures.

In most countries it is forbidden to be naked in public, in others in certain restricted areas it is allowed to be naked.

If entering various religious buildings in most countries, certain standards of dress are required, which are different to the respective religions. In other words 100% freedom is not possible, as much as many people think it should. All freedoms come with responsiblities. They have too, If certain countries have laws and you want to visit them, or live there, one has to accept the laws of that land.

The biggest problem is when laws are CHANGED, without any apparent reason, and that these laws go against groups of people who have lived there without any trouble for decades.

I must admit I do not like laws that force women to cover their heads. I do not like laws that force women to not to cover their heads. The same applies to men and hats.

Finding common ground to find acceptable laws to all is not easy. But freedom does not mean NO LAWS of any kind. Most people accept laws that state that you should not carry a knife or gun in public places. But code of dress is a much more difficult law to get accepted.

No, what you have described is not freedom, that is peaceful co-existence.
Its just as nice, and in most cases better, but its not freedom.
The definition of Freedom does not have the word "but" in it.
You can do what you like but...
For example, I would like millions of pounds in my bank, hot women in my bed and all my favourite foods to eat everyday.
But I am not free to enjoy this life for various reasons.
If I had full freedom I could just take that money by whatever means, and the food and women would come.
But unfortunately I live in a land that has laws to stop me doing so.
These laws do not protect my freedom, they protect the notion of peaceful co-existence between the majority.
