2007年3月31日 下午3點05分24秒 Today Is My Birthday, What On Earth Am I Here For?

Today is my Birthday-March 31st. I would like to say a million thanks to my precious and lovely Mom who brought me out into this world and reared me with awesome godly instructions and good moral values. “We have so much to look forward to if we love GOD, if we put our trust in HIM. So accept the gift of old age with open hands and say, “Thank you, LORD.” Make me a godly woman in my old age.”

“Is not wisdom found among the aged? Does not long life bring understanding?” ( Job 12:12)

Since it is my Birthday, I would like to join the Psalmist with his praises to the LORD with these Bible Verses as my token of gratitude for all the goodness and kindness of the LORD throughout the years I have lived into this ephemeral world up to this day and age. Psalm 116:12-17 says, “ How can I repay the LORD for all HIS goodness to me? I will lift up the cup of Salvation and call on the name of the LORD. I will fulfill my vows to the LORD in the presence of all HIS people. Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of HIS saints. O LORD, truly I am your servant; I am your servant, the son of your maidservant, you have freed me from my chains. I will sacrifice a thank offering to you and call on the name of the LORD. I will fulfill my vows to the LORD in the presence of HIS people, in the courts of the house of the LORD. Praise the LORD.

I also would like to feature in my blog today some excerpts from the book of the author Rick Warren, Purpose-Driven Life and that of the Author Charles Swindol in his book, Wisdom For The Way which has something to say about us being born into this world and what on earth we are here for?

GOD Made Us

YOU formed my inward parts; You wove me in my Mother’s womb.

I will give thanks to YOU for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.( Psalm 139:13-14)

GOD reached into my life when I was merely a tiny embryo and began to shape me within. He originated me. He began to put me together while I was still in the soft silence of my mother’s womb. It was there my “inward parts” were originated by GOD. The nine-month interweaving work of GOD included my likes and dislikes, my personality as well as my perspective on life. As I analyze my body and see the way I have been put together, I join the Psalmist in praise and gratitude to my GOD, my Creator. Mother nature didn’t make me. Fate did not shape me, neither was I biological of Mom and Dad in a moment of sexual passion. Nor was I conceived through blind chance, YOU, GOD made me and no other.

You and I were made by GOD and for GOD---and until you understand that, life will never make sense. The Bible says, “ It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for . Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone.

We discover our identity and purpose through a relationship with Jesus Christ. GOD was thinking of us long before we ever thought about him. HIS purpose for our life predates our conception. HE planned it before we existed, without our input! We may choose our career, our sweetheart, our future spouse, our hobbies, and many other parts of our life, but we don’t get to choose your purpose. The purpose of our life fits into a much larger, cosmic purpose that GOD has designed for eternity.

“Everything got started in HIM and finds its purpose in him.” (Colossians 1:16b)

We Are Not An Accident

“I am your Creator. You were in my care even before you were born.” ( Isaiah 44:2a)

Our birth was no mistake or mishap, and our life is no fluke of nature. Our parents may not have planned us but GOD did. He was not all surprised by our birth. In fact, HE expected it. Long before we were conceived by our parents, we were conceived in the mind of GOD. HE thought of us first. It is not fate or chance, nor luck, nor coincidence that you are breathing at this very moment. You are alive because GOD wanted to create you! The Bible says, “ The LORD will fulfill his purpose for me.” GOD prescribed every single detail of your body. HE deliberately chose our race, the color of our skin, our hair, and every other feature. He custom-made our body just the way HE wanted it. HE also determined the natural talents we would possess and the uniqueness of our personality.

The Bible says, “ YOU know me inside and out, YOU know every bone in my body; YOU exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something.”

Because GOD made us for a reason, HE also decided when we would be born and how long we would live. HE planned the days of our life in advance, choosing the exact time of our birth and death. The Bible says, “ YOU saw me before I was born and scheduled each day of my life before I began to breath. Every day was recorded in your Book!”

GOD also planned where you’d be born and where you’d live for HIS purpose. Your race and nationality are no accident. GOD left no detail to chance. HE planned it all for HIS purpose. The Bible says, “ From one man HE made every nation… and HE determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live.” Nothing in your life is arbitrary. It’s all for a purpose. Most amazing, GOD decided how you would be born. Regardless of the circumstance of your birth or who your parents are, GOD had a plan in creating you. It doesn’t matter whether your parents were good, bad, or indifferent. GOD knew that those two individuals possessed exactly the right genetic makeup to create the custom “you” he had in mind.. They had the DNA God wanted to make you.

While there are illegitimate parents, there are no illegitimate children. Many children are unplanned by their parents, but they are not unplanned by GOD. GOD’s purpose took into account human error, and even sin. GOD never does anything accidentally, and HE never makes mistakes. HE has a reason for everything HE creates. Every plant and every animal was planned by GOD, and every person was designed with a purpose in mind.

GOD’s motive for creating you was HIS love. The Bible says, “ Long before HE laid down earth’s foundations, HE had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of HIS love.”

GOD was thinking of us even before HE made the world. In fact, that’s why HE created it! GOD designed this planet’s environment just so we could live in it. We are the focus of HIS love and the most valuable of all HIS creation. The Bible says, “ GOD decided to give us life through the word of truth so we might be the most important of all the things HE made.” This is how much GOD loves and values!

GOD is not haphazard; He planned it will with great precision. The more phycisists, biologists, and other scientists learn about the universe, the better we understand how it is uniquely suited for our existence, custom-made with the exact specifications that make human life possible.

GOD says, “ I have carried you since you were born; I have taken care of you from your birth. Even when you are old, I will be the same. Even when your hair has turned gray. I made you and will take care of you.” GOD made us for a reason and our life has a profound meaning! We discover the that meaning and purpose only when we make GOD the reference point in our lives. Romans 12;3 says, “ The only accurate way to understand ourselves is by what GOD is and by what he does for us.”

To GOD be the glory, honor, and praise forever and ever, Amen!

2007年3月30日 下午12點24分55秒 Our Plans versus GOD's Plans

Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails. ( Proverbs 19:21)

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and future." (Jeremiah 29:11)

My dearest Brothers and Sisters in the LORD, have you ever experienced to spend weeks, months, or years of preparation for one vocation or calling only to end up doing something absolutely and utterly different? Perhaps this could be said of you. Quite often we have in our minds what we believe we want to do only to have a course correction. Often the course correction comes through a major crisis that forces us into an area that we would never have dreamed, contemplated or yet considered.

Most of the time these detours or course corrections we had encountered in the past had been so extremely painful and disenchanting because we were filled with so much disappointments and frustrations but these course corrections are GOD's instruments to lead us to traverse the best way HE ever planned for us because HE believes it was the best channel for HIM to let us achieve what HE wanted us to have and to become the person HE wanted us to be and thus HIS purpose fulfilled. GOD's ways are loftier than our ways and HIS thoughts are way higher than ours.GOD is really the only one WHO can help us see our circumstances from HIS viewpoint---a high position. It is a high position because of what GOD is going to teach us and to make us understand HIS mighty and wondrous message behind every twists and turns and circumstances in our lives. GOD does not intend us to stay disappointed; it is merely a stopping place to learn some important things we would not learn otherwise. We must press into GOD and trust HIM for the outcome to our circumstances.

A time-honored aphorism says, "The only gleam of hope I cannot underrate it, is from confidence in GOD." When i look upward it calms any apprehension for the future, and I seem to hear a voice saying:" If i clothe the lilies of the field, shall I not also clothe you?" Here is my strong confidence, and I will wait patiently for the direction of Divine Providence."

GOD's plan may not always seem to follow our natural inclination. Perhaps GOD has us taking a path that may not lead to HIS ultimate destination for you. Trust in the LORD, lean not on your own understanding, acknowledge HIM in all you do, and HE shall direct your path. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

2007年3月28日 下午1點54分29秒 Sorrows Are GOD's Channel Of Blessings

The LORD is to be our Source of supply. In HIM are springs, fountains, and streams that will never be cut off or run dry. To those who are anxious comes the gracious promise of our Heavenly Father: If HE is the source of our mercies, mercy will never fail us. No heat or drought can dry the "river whose streams make glad the city of GOD."(Psalms 46:4)

The afore-mentioned Bible Verse is a strong, clear and convincing evidence that GOD has the unbreakable and indubitable endless capability, power and capacity to turn every snowstorms or windstorms of life, bitterness, extreme sorrows and adversities into an unimaginable blessings as HE is our Divine Provider, Strong Tower, Refuge and Fotress. Sorrow, is GOD's tool to plow the depths of the soul, that it may yield richer harvest. If humankind was still in a glorified state, having never fallen, then the strong floods of divine joy would be the force, GOD would use to reveal our souls' capacities. But in a fallen world, sorrow, yet with despair removed, is the power chosen to reveal us to ourselves.Accordingly, it is sorrow that causes us to take time to think deeply and seriously. Sorrow makes us move more slowly and considerately and examine our motives and attitudes. It opens within us the capacities of the heavenly life, and it makes us willing to set our capacities afloat on an unlimited ocean of service for GOD and for others.GOD never uses anyone to a great degree until HE breaks the person completely. Joseph experienced more sorrow than the other Sons of Jacob, and it led him into a ministry of food for all the nations. For this reason, the Holy Spirit said of him,"Joseph is a fruitful vine"...near a spring, whose branches climb over wall" (Genesis 49:22) It takes sorrow to expand and deepen the soul.

Every person and every nation must endure lessons in GOD's school of adversity or sorrow. In the same way we say, " Blessed is the night, for it reveals the stars to us" we can say," Blessed is sorrow, for it reveals GOD's comfort." A flood once washed away a poor man's home and mill, taking with it everything he owned in the world. He stood at the scence of his great loss and damage, brokenhearted, his spirit crashed, disenchanted, and discouraged. Yet after the waters subsided, he saw something shining in the riverbanks that the flood had washed bare. " It looks like gold," he said. And it was gold. The storm that had impoverished him made him rich. So it is oftentimes in life.(Henry Trumbull) You can always count on GOD to make the "later on" of difficulties, sorrows, and adversities a thousand times richer and better than the present, if we overcome them correctly. " No discipline seems pleasant at the time... Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace." ( Hebrews 12:11) What a yield! " From threatening clouds we get refreshing showers, in dark mines are found bright jewels; and so from our worst troubles come our best blessings." (Charles Spurgeon)

GOD is so good. We can say all the best "adjectives to describe the steadfast, constant and endless unconditional love of GOD for us because HE is indeed the Source of Mercy and Grace. Therefore, we must always bear in mind that GOD will always come to our rescue when we faced painful and sordid circumstances in our lives. God's ways are great and marvelous are HIS deeds. (Revelation 15:2-3) Always say, LORD teach me to rejoice in you---to be joyful always. ( 1 Thessalonians 5:16) Let us sing even when we do not feel like it, for in this way we give wings to heavy feet and turn weariness into strength. (John Henry Jowett) In GOD, we lack nothing! (Psalm 23)

2007年3月27日 下午12點17分06秒 OPEN YOURSELF TO God's WILL

OPEN YOURSELF TO God's WILL:

I would like to share some thoughts and insights that i have learned from all the experiences i went through in my entire life or in my years of struggle as a born-again Christian. When disappointed, try loving GOD all the more. Carefully analyze yourself to make certain what you are thinking and living in harmony with HIS spiritual purpose. It could be that you are off the spiritual beam. Instead of dwelling upon the word disappointment, "think of it as " GOD's appointment." What you regard as disappointment may actually HIS plan. Always take a positive view toward disappointment. Maybe you are led toward something different. If you have tried sincerely and prayerfully, and things have not gone well, then look upon disappointment as an opportunity to ask whether you should move, under GOD's guidance in another direction.

Bounce back from disappointment. Life consists not in holding good cards, but in playing well those you hold.(Josh Billings) Rest assured in the promise of this Bible Verse, Romans :28 says, " For GOD works all things for the good of those who love HIM." Disappointment is fleeting. When disappointment comes, let go of the non-productive feelings you have such as anger, frustration, resentment, self-hate, and depression. Use the energy you might spend on these emotions to do something constructive, something that will take your mind off your defeat and put you on the road to victory. "Never chew pills, swallow them, for chewing them makes them more bitter still. When disappointments come, let go of your negative emotions before they steal precious time from you. Learn to pray those feelings of disappointment away from you. If you talk to GOD about the negative feelings, no matter how ugly, they vanish. You have the option to cast all your burdens to GOD and be calm or to spend time dwelling on your disappointments that could only make you more miserable. Remember, it's the choices that we make, not the chances of life, that determine our destiny. See your problems or disappointments as a "Sign Of Life,"---it is a fact that no one in a cemetery has a problem for they are dead. It follows then, in logical sequence, that problems constitute a sign of life. The more problems one has, the more alive he is.

You must always bear in mind that Adversity and JESUS, the Christ are the secret to outstanding success in life. Without both,I would never have amounted to anything. Adversity develops spiritual and mental muscle for the positive thinker. JESUS Christ gives the strength to stand up to it and the wisdom to weave it into your life pattern to make you strong. You just have to open yourself to GOD's will.

Today is mine. Tomorrow is none of my business. If I peer anxiously into the fog of the future I will strain my spiritual eyes so that I will not see clearly what is required of me now. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. (Matthew 6:34)

Stand firm to JESUS! Fight the good fight of faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. (1 Timothy 6:12) No matter what difficulties and disappointments you may face, if you hope in GOD Almighty, the time will come when you will praise HIM for your victory and for HIS goodness.
