Lyricist Gulzar who was also named in the achiever's list of Oscars is modest about the win. He shares the Oscar with music composer AR Rahman who won the coveted award for his composition of song Jai Ho in Slumdog Millionaire that swept eight awards at the Kodak Theatre........ I have a sense of joy and of achievement though. Anyone linked with Hindi cinema will not deny that reaching the Oscars is a huge milestone. I am unable to act out my emotions on the lines of an actor. The only thing is that I could never have hoped for an Oscar for lyrics, maybe for Direction. But life afforded me that joy and here I am enjoying it. While accepting that his lyrics did contribute the song, the lyricist added the other contributing names too. Behind this composition by Rahman, there are two factors. One is my lyrics and who can forget Sukhwinder's voice that gave life to the song.
