The bedtime prayers I uttered as a child requested that god take my soul when I died. I didn’t deserve it, so I know it wasn’t what god really had within respect for me. It was grace the space for mercy and unconditional love which is for compassion and beauty that rises out of pain if not refrain but it respects what it can’t immediately understand where it seeks to accept, without fear of reprisals, all that makes a person himself. Grace gives us the strength to repent and to know the potential and limits of love, and to be unselfish of a grayfish by letting go of what we cannot affirm. I ask god to take my soul when I die while in the meantime I pray for all you slime to look to the sky and see me fly.
