with a gentle rush of calm
you took my shaking hand
and helped me from the rocky cliff
on which i used to stand
with a subtle whisper
you blew away my tears
and with your noble smile
you melted all my fears
I was lost and frightened
trapped in endless night
forgetting how to trust
I'd given up the fight
but there you were to rescue me
my silent strong hero
with pieces of my fractured heart
you started them to grow
i tried to stand against you
I was afraid to stay
but you had so much faith in me
and would not let me stray
and as the ice has melted
around my broken soul
you manipulate my will
and I give you control
you swore that you would love me
and never let me go
first i could not believe it
but now, be sure, I know.
we have sworn our loyalty
we have made our plans
and we have the love of god
that's more than any man's
the days have left us walking
