Too many times you hear people complain on postings, for example....We are sick of Paris Hilton. If you ignore it, it goes away. It is our responding that keeps these people in the news. All too often I see people chosing options that go against their better judgement. If you dislike what a company represents quit buying their products. I had a boycott against a convenience store for treating people poorly. My son's friends from a nearby highschool joined my boycott. As individuals WE perpetuate the markets. I now buy only dove products because they are promoting real women's beuty and not the air brush, plastic women that we have grown to idolize. As a parent, I have learned actions speak louder than words. STAND FOR WHAT YOU BELIEVE.

These days alot of people want to know what matters most for happiness. I have found it comes in the simplest ways, and yet we can find happiness so evasive. Last week I made a 30 dollar investment, in rubber tubes tied together and a snack to float down river with my son. Take your Expensive high powered speed boats if you like, but I found contentment in just going where the current would take us. According to the United Nations, Canada is the best country in the world to live. As a wide eyed innocent jounalism student, I thought what our media portrayed was the undisputed truth. When I began writing I learned this is not always so. Propoganda is spread in ALL countries, and taught in all schools. To think otherwise is nieve. The voices of the common are drowned out by those of the elite. Over 50 percent of all newspaper funding comes from advertizing of corporations. Do you bite the hand that feeds you???
