I think that all that time ago when he expressed his interest to meet up with Chelsea officials. HE showed disloyalty to Arsenal. He didn't wanna stay with Arsenal, I mean come on.
The only reason why he stayed with Arsenal was cos he didn't want to get booed at. Cos the media in the country can stir up so much bad stuff against people.

He wanted to leave ages ago, so just let him go I say. He didn't wanna stay so screw him.
