The best friend I have ever had
I'm glad to say, is you.
You're there if I should need you
And you never turn away
I know I can depend on you
At any time of day.
We've had our ups and downs
As nearly everybody does
But problems never last for long
With special friends like us.
Some people have so many friends
With whom they spend their time
But no-one has a best friend
Who's as wonderful as mine.
So thanks for always being there
Your friendship's strong and true
And I just want to let you know
I'm always there for you!
Whenever I'm hurt, you can be found.
You are the shoulder that I cry upon.
Until all my sadness is completely gone.
You are there to share my big news.
Your friendship I hope to never lose.
You are the one that I know I can trust.
And in a friendship, that is a must.
You have a way of making everything okay.
Especially after a long, horrible day.

Which is something that was hard for quite a while.

I need a friend who along with time can help my broken heart to mend.
I need a friend who can lend me their ears, someone who can dry my face of the many fallen tears.
I need a friend that can hold me tight, someone who won't let me go until made clear I am finally alright.
I need a friend who has once cried, someone who knows what it is like to feel that inside you have died.
I need a friend who can tell me it's okay, someone who knows I'm not crazy for feeling this way.
