Saturday's Journal
Overtime Work
Normally I don't have to work on Saturday. OT pay is one dollar up the usual per hour. I chose to work 8 hrs, I can earn $52 today compared to the usual $45 on weekdays. Naturally I am quite happy about it. A lot of people worked 12 hours today. One of my colleagues opted for 16 hours o_O, that means he earned $104 today. That's a wow! Can't really blame him, he has a family to support. I have never worked that long before, maybe I will try working for 16 hours someday.
Buy? Yes. Buy? No
Ok, I got my pay yesterday. I am very tempted to spend a portion of it on an MP3 player. I wanted very much to preserve as much money as I can, because of my unstable financial status. My saving is very depleted. I still need to pay the bills and stuffs for my family, together with my brother's help as well.
WTF! Topic of the Day: Money = Honey
Do I love money? Yes, to a certain extent. Money can do wonders in our present times. It can't do everything, but it can do a lot of things. Most of the time spending money on things we like make us happy. But it makes Jesus sad. This makes me confused because I am a Christian.
Types of Money Users
The Spendthrift
"Great! time for a shopping spree" Yeah, these kind of people treat money as a key to make their life happy and get the things they want. They are impulsive in purchasing. They often run out of money fast and seldom keep any savings. These people are destined to be 'poor' for life unless they are reasonably rich themselves or have high paying jobs.
The Gambler
"Win Win Win!" These people can only hope. I admire these people's cheerful outlook and their optimism about their chances of winning and getting rich sorely by gambling alone. I have come across a few of hardcore gamblers. They are always poor and some have borrowing habits. They see money - gambling as opportunity in life. What attracts gambler so much is the chance to earn a large amount of money if one hits the desire result in a gambling situation. The wins are the hook. The losses are his pathway to the kingdom of poverty. The truth is the chance of winning is extremely slim, usually in favor of the 'house'.
The Investor
These people invest money on profitable items. Normally things that have a chance to rise in value or drop in value. It's a bit like gambling, but it's a more intelligent and classy way to make your money grow. I think it's slightly safer, since there are things like safe investment, the downside being that the return rate is lower. Things like shares and private properties. All these things can be analysed unlike gambling which is completely random most of the time. Of course there's no guarantee of winning. If you want to invest, invest in small amounts and don't rely on investing as one's main source of income, life don't work that way. Gaian donation items is an example of a good investment.
The Miser
These people view money as treasures to keep to themselves. They are very unwillingly to lend out any money to people and would go extreme to saving and earning money. In my opinion this isn't a very good way to treat money.
The Saver
Saving is a good virtue, this goes without saving. I learnt from a book that you should save at least 10% of what you earned, that gurantee you to be financially strong over time. The key is never never use your saving. Just keep saving them. Of course unless it's forced by unforseen circumstances, one ought to keep a saving and save regularly
The tither
Tithing means donating money. It is a good thing to donate some portion of your money to the needy. It makes their life better. You may have less money now, but you have made a fellow person's life easier. I always feel kinda happy when I donate to people. The people who receive the donation is also happy as well. Donating also signifies that you are able to live on less than what you have earned. It's a good thing really.
You may be classified under one or more than one of the above categories.
How do I fit here
My Spendthrift Index: 7
I can control myself most of the time. But it's better I don't bring out too much money. If I saw something I wanted very much I would buy it without hesitation. That isn't very good. But I love making myself happy. But the stuffs I spent on aren't terribly expensive, I do not buy expensive clothes too.
My Gambler Index: 0
Sorry I ain't the least interested in gambling now. I used to be an avid football better for a time. I won a lot in the first few weeks. I lost many times more after that. I give it up, even though I never won back what I have lost. I have learnt a good lesson. Yeah damn the gambling industry! Gambling make you poorer and poorer.
My Investor Index: 0
Never tried it. Since I am now a serious Christian, I don't think I want to go into it, as it feels like a sin of greed.
My Miser Index: 2
I am never a miser. Those who know me will know this. I love giving treat if I can. But I am careful about borrowing money. $20 is the max. People who never returned borrowed money piss me off.
My Saver Index: 8
I do save money. I can save a lot as long as I have a stable job. I don't really spend that much and try to save whenever I can. I think all the sacrifices are worth it. I have very little saving now, because I was out of job for some time (one month plus) before my current job, lending money to people, paying the bills and stuffs.
My Tither Index: 9
I love donating money nowadays. I have donated to the temple, church, charity, handicaps, beggars. It makes me happy.
Sunday's journal
Woke up with a big headache today, I wonder what is wrong with me, kinda feel very exhausted. Can't even think clearly now. -_-

2005年7月12日 下午5點30分39秒Initial D Movie Disappoint The Hell Out Of Me!
Just went to watched Initial D starred by Edison Chen, Jay Chou and Shawn Ken, What can I say? I am very disappointed with the movie. The setting are right, they got the cars looked just like the one in the anime, but I don't understand why they have to mess up with the relationship and personality of some of the characters in it. Itsuki is NOT the son of the patrol station boss. Neither is he is leader of Speed Stars. What's up with Takeshi and Ryousuke talking like friends? They were supposed to be arch rivals. Why did Bunta add a crappy looking black ...
